GROW, DISCOVER AND BIRTHDAY

We want to give children the opportunity to discover and actively experience their own world. To do this, they need a place where they are accepted and strengthened in their entire personality.

A trusting relationship between parents and educational staff is particularly important to us - it forms the basis for a partnership-based, family-supporting cooperation.

Our aim is to create a child-friendly environment in which everyone feels comfortable and safe. Through empathetic guidance and a prepared environment, we create a space that enables both security and development.

Mini-humans, Maxi care!

In our daycare centre, we look after the children in mixed-age groups:

  • The MS-Kunigunde daycare centre looks after a total of 102 children in 6 groups.
  • There are 17 children aged between 4 months and 6 years in each group.

On the bridge of the „MS-Kunigunde“, Gabriele Wolters-Ruschkowski, the head of the daycare centre, and the deputy head, Kirsten Köster, together with a team of 22 educational specialists, keep the ship on course. As a multi-professional team, they support each child individually and holistically in their development.

The educational team is supported by two cooks, a kitchen assistant and an everyday helper for the preparation of meals and other housekeeping activities.

Educational Profile

A Mindful togetherness - characterised by respect, trust and empathy - forms the foundation of our educational approach. We attach great importance to sensitive educator behaviour and an atmosphere in which children feel protected and accepted.

The educational work at the MS-Kunigunde daycare centre is based on the situation-oriented approach. With the involvement of the children, the topics covered in the kindergarten are selected according to the children's current interests, needs and questions. Through planned and situational activities, we provide stimuli for the children to play and learn.

Our protection mandate is firmly anchored in this: the MS-Kunigunde daycare centre has a comprehensive, institution-specific child protection concept that includes both legal principles and clear procedures in the event of a risk to a child's well-being. In this way, we ensure a safe environment for your child.

Objective

Our aim is to give the children space to develop their strengths and take responsibility for themselves and their actions. Clear rules, recurring rituals and lovingly set boundaries provide a reliable structure that creates orientation and security.

At the centre of our educational work is the conviction that children are active creators of their own development. In line with Montessori pedagogy, we guide them according to the following guiding principle: „Help me to do it myself“. We create a prepared environment and provide stimuli that enable and encourage independent action in everyday life.

The mix of ages results in a reciprocal learning process in which different social behaviours such as consideration and a sense of responsibility are learned. Taking into account the respective life situation, individual inclinations and talents, the children are helped to become as independent and active as possible. Cross-group projects offer plenty of scope for optimum support.

Co-operation with the parents

Successful work with the children always requires good co-operation with the parents/guardians. Education in the daycare centre is only a supplement to family education and can never replace it! The education of the children at our day care centre starts where the parental education has already created a basis.

Communication between parents and educational staff based on trust and partnership makes it possible to discuss mutual expectations, individual concerns and possible worries or fears and to ensure the best possible care for the child together.
