Daycare centre University dwarves
Loving care directly on the campus
Our three-group daycare centre Uni-Zwerge is located in the middle of the Paderborn University campus at Pohlweg 45a and offers a total of 54 children aged 4 months to school age a place to play, learn and feel at home.

Mini-humans, Maxi care!
In our daycare centre, we look after the children in mixed-age groups:
- Two groups for children under the age of three (U3)
Each with 15 seats per group. - One group for children over the age of three (Ü3)
With space for 23 Children.
Our dedicated team consists of 11 employees with a wide range of qualifications: Educators, social pedagogues, a social manager, a curative education nurse, an everyday helper/kitchen assistant and a motor therapist. As a multi-professional team, we support each child individually and holistically in their development.
Every year, we support a professional trainee in their training and offer practical experience as well as close supervision from our specialised staff. The daycare centre management is also regularly active in the groups in order to strengthen direct contact with children and families.
Our housekeeping team takes care of your physical well-being: a cook prepares fresh, balanced meals every day, supported by an everyday helper.
Pedagogical profile
The educational profile of the Uni-Zwerge daycare centre is based on Montessori pedagogy and the guiding principle „Help me to do it myself“.
At the centre of our work is the promotion of each child's personal development. We support and encourage the children to act independently and to develop their individual abilities and interests in a prepared environment according to Maria Montessori.
Our daycare centre offers the children a feel-good place where they are accepted and valued for their uniqueness. Clear rules, rituals and boundaries create an atmosphere of safety and security.
An important part of our educational work is also to encourage the children to recognise and express their feelings. The protection and well-being of the children is our top priority. This is why our centre has a comprehensive child protection concept that includes the legal basis, possible types of risk and specific procedures in the event of a risk to the child's welfare.

Co-operation with the parents
A trusting cooperation between parents and educational staff is a central building block for us in order to support each child's development in the best possible way and to achieve support that complements the family. We hold regular meetings to discuss your child's stage of development and discuss your individual concerns, worries, wishes and expectations.
