On 25 November 2026, the WDR Comedy Kitchen will be coming to Paderborn for the third time, transforming the Mensa Academica at the University of Paderborn into a live comedy club once again. The Paderborn Student Services Organisation, WDR and Wohlsein present a tasty line-up of stand-up comedy featuring: Yorick Thiede, Christoph Fritz, Hinnerk Köhn, Ana Lucia and Roger G.

At this year’s Mensa Talk, you’ll have the chance to submit questions in advance (here: My question for the canteen ), which will then be answered on the spot by Mr Wolf (Head of the Catering Department). Afterwards, you can take part in an exclusive Canteen management take part and feel free to ask any further questions.

For many students, studying presents not only an academic challenge but also a financial one. Whilst the BAföG provides a solid foundation, it is often not enough: some applicants are not eligible for BAföG, whilst others have to take additional financial commitments into account – such as the day-to-day costs of raising children.

This talk will therefore outline the most important alternative and supplementary funding options. We’ll look at how you can bridge any financial gaps – regardless of whether you receive BAföG or not – from various types of work to scholarships and student loans. The aim is to give you a clear overview of which options are suitable and accessible depending on your individual situation, and how you can find the right funding for your studies.
