As Studierendenwerk Paderborn, we support students at Paderborn University, Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences and the Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Rhine-Westphalia, Paderborn department, through their everyday student life. With services in the areas of catering, accommodation, student finance, childcare, social counselling and intercultural issues, we provide reliable support from a single source.

Our aim is to offer students the best possible framework conditions - so that you can concentrate on the essentials: Your studies.

Part of a strong network

There are 12 Studierendenwerke in North Rhine-Westphalia; 57 are organised nationwide in the Deutsches Studierendenwerk (DSW).

As a modern service provider with a social mission, we play an active role in shaping the university environment.

As Studierendenwerk Paderborn, we are responsible for the students of the universities:

  • University of Paderborn
  • Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences
  • Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Rhine-Westphalia, Paderborn Department

Responsibility Student financing

In addition to the universities already listed, the Paderborn State Office for Educational Support is also responsible for:

  • Faculty of Theology Paderborn
  • University of Applied Sciences, Paderborn and Marburg Department

Frequent Questions about the Studierendenwerk (FAQ)

The Paderborn Student Union supports students in their everyday lives. Among other things, we take care of canteens and cafés, student accommodation, student finance (BAföG), counselling, childcare and cultural activities.

We are for students of the University of Paderborn, the Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences and the Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Rhine-Westphalia (Paderborn Department) responsible. We also support other universities in the area of student financing.

No. The Paderborn Student Union is a independent organisation and organisationally independent of the universities, but works closely with them.

Our programmes are primarily aimed at students, but are also available to some Employees of the universities and external guests open - for example in the canteens.

The Studierendenwerk is financed by fees for services, state subsidies and student contributions, among other things.

We create social conditions that enable students to study successfully - regardless of their background or financial situation.
