As a social companion, we create the best possible conditions for students at our university locations for successful, carefree studies.
With our services in catering, housing, educational support, childcare, social counselling and intercultural services, we offer high-quality, easily accessible and affordable services.

Studierendenwerk Paderborn supports you in many areas of your everyday student life. On campus, we provide you with a variety of meals, snacks and coffee in our canteens, cafés and cafeterias - from a quick breakfast to lunch. You will also find canteens at our Hamm and Lippstadt campuses.
We also support you with housing, student finance and social matters. Our halls of residence promote coexistence, exchange between students from different semesters and cultures and international integration. Rents are fair and designed to cover costs.
With counselling, BAföG support, childcare, cultural activities and social support, we create a framework that allows you to concentrate on your studies. Our aim is to provide you with reliable support at every stage of your studies - open, supportive and internationally orientated.

There are 12 student services organisations in North Rhine-Westphalia and 57 nationwide in the Deutsches Studierendenwerk (DSW). As a modern service provider with a social mission, we play an active role in shaping the university environment.

Student financing
Studying brings with it many new opportunities - and this includes the question of how you can finance your time at university. Our aim is to give you an overview of the various financing options so that you can find the form of student financing that suits you best.

GAstronomy
University catering is an important part of campus life. It ensures that students, university staff and guests are well catered for in their everyday study and work life. Our canteens, cafés and bistros offer a place to meet, socialise and take short breaks between lectures, studying and work.

Living
The Paderborn Student Union offers you comfortable accommodation close to campus at the Paderborn, Hamm and Lippstadt campuses. The focus here is on togetherness - you get to know people from all over the world and develop social skills that go far beyond your studies.

Social & counselling
Whether you have problems with financing your studies, no or too little BAföG, stress with part-time jobs or personal challenges - we are here for you. We provide you with quick, uncomplicated and free advice on many social issues in everyday student life. We will inform you about suitable support options.

Daycare centre
As Studierendenwerk Paderborn, we run the daycare centres Uni-Zwerge and MS-Kunigunde. We offer childcare places for children of students and employees of Paderborn University as well as for children of working parents on and off campus.

Intercultural
As a student union, we actively contribute to the success of cultural integration and respectful coexistence in everyday university life - through forms of housing, counselling, social services and community activities. In this way, we create places where not only knowledge but also cultural diversity is lived.
Sustainability in the StW PAderborn
Sustainability is a central component of our work at Studierendenwerk Paderborn. Because we shape living and study conditions on a daily basis, responsible use of resources is a matter of course for us.
In areas such as the canteen, housing, childcare and student finance, we focus on environmentally conscious behaviour, less waste and sustainable procurement. In this way, we take responsibility and contribute to making the campus socially, ecologically and economically sustainable.

Social
We act in all respects as a student union that fulfils its social and ecological responsibility. For example, we ensure that all departments use energy, labour and food in a particularly resource-efficient manner.
One of our basic principles is socially acceptable pricing for our accommodation and catering facilities. Our services are therefore equally available to every student.
As an employer, the Studierendenwerk is characterised by secure collective bargaining conditions, modern working time models with flexitime arrangements, family friendliness and the resulting work-life balance.

Studierendenwerk Paderborn provides social support for students at Paderborn University, Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences and the Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Rhine-Westphalia, Paderborn department.
